Beginners 50s style Jive classes
Every Wednesday and Thursday from 8pm
We run beginners 50s style Jive classes as an off shoot to The Chicken Shack (our Rock’n’Roll night). These are informal, fun and run as drop in sessions. No experience or partner is needed.
Saturday 15th July
The third Saturday of the month is now our regular Rock’n’Roll night.
This month (in fact this week) we have a The Red Hot Rockets playing with us. Again this is held at The Plough and Harrow, and because of this, we are part of the Leytonstone Festival – making our night FREE!
Doors are at 8pm and we go on until 1am
Leytonstone tube is not far away, and being on the Central line which is now a night tube, there is no excuse! Click here for the facebook event page
Sunday 16th July
Back for it’s 4th year, this is one of my favourite events of the year.
This is a local event in Chrisp Street in East London, under the cover of an early 1950s market place.
Expect an afternoon of killer diller thrills with DJs, 3 bands, vintage traders, classic and custom cars (we’ll have our hot rod there), food traders and beer!
It’s a great little event, a combination of local residents and people from the dance scene – both swing and rock’n’roll.
Starting at Midday and running through to 7pm, I’m really looking forward to this one!
Saturday 22nd July
The One Borough Festival.
Being held in Parsloes Park, Dagenham, I’ll be trading here with the Hotties Vintage stall.
“The One Borough Festival is back and better than ever, for its third instalment on Saturday 22 July.
Live from Parsloes Park, Dagenham expect a day filled with live performances, workshops, craft fairs and delicious food and drink.
The Thrills and Spills Arena has a jam-packed line up of family fun and thrilling performances.
This year’s theme for our main stage is Generation Jukebox which will showcase music and traditions from decades gone by.”
Sunday 23rd July
Linking on from the One Borough Festival, Sunday is dedicated to all things ELVIS!
Not only will I be here trading will the Hotties Vintage stall, I will also be teaching taster jive classes.
We’ll be holding mini classes (around 20 minutes) throughout the day, to show you some basic moves and give you the confidence to get up and enjoy the music on into the evening.
That’s it for July… I think! You never know, sometimes last minute events get thrown in.
Stay tuned for my August events
